Crochet: Christmasy newborn photo props

I have been crocheting and knitting some Christmasy baby things lately.  They are so adorable.  I wish Tessa were still a tiny newborn so I could have some modeled shots.  If you’re interested in purchasing any of these items, visit my facebook page.

Red is such a festive color.

I thought it would be fun to create some little angel wings.  Wouldn’t this be such a pretty newborn holiday shoot?  Or, how about for a little one year old?  A cupid for Valentine’s day?  The possibilities are endless! (The wings are similar to Tessa’s bird wings from Halloween.)

Summery Baby Romper

I haven’t sewn a thing for probably a month.  It’s Kid’s Clothes Week and I really wanted to sew something at least once during this week.  I pulled out the ol’ machine to hem some jeans and decided to keep it out to do a little baby sewing.  Luckily, I got my homework (that is due tonight) done last night, so I felt like I could take the time to do a little crafting.

I used Shwin & Shwin’s Baby Romper pattern again, like this one that I did for my niece.  I am going to embellish a little onesie with a turquoise peter pan collar, I think, to go with the romper.  That might be pretty cute.

It feels good to sew again.  Maybe I won’t go so long until the next time. 🙂

Plaid romper- too girly?

I made this little romper the other day, thinking that I’d give it to a friend who is having a baby boy.  Image

Throughout the process, I wondered if it’s a little too feminine looking.  I sewed up a size Medium, which is about a 12 month, though it fits Jude pretty well- at 19 months. Image

I think it’s more like an 18 month size; I think that’s part of the problem.  This style of romper is super cute for a tiny baby, but anything larger than about 12 months looks a bit girly to me.  Image

Am I crazy?  Do you feel the same way about it?  ImageIt’s cute and fun, but I think I might make another one either in a smaller size or in a different fabric.  Image
